THE THING PRODUCED BY STEVE ALBINI!
The great recordings done by Steve Albini in Chicago is now out on CD and download (LP will follow soon). The album is titled Bag It! and the first 1000 CDs contains a free bonus disc with a looong impro suite titled Beef Brisket. The LP is being pressed now and is available in a few weeks, more info soon.

THE THING BOX SET: 4 STARS REVIEW IN UNCUT
Spirited free jazz, with obligatory indie covers. ****
Compromising saxophonist Mats Gustafsson, double-bass player Ingebrigt Haker Flaten and drummer Paal Nilssen-Love, there is no doubting the Scandinavian-ness of The Thing. However, as this three album-plus-DVD box (which stretches back to their eponymous 2000 debut) attests, the band channel the spirit of free jazz as blown by the late Albert Ayler, John Coltrane and Don Cherry like no other combo. Moreover, on their version of To Bring You My Love in which they convert the PJ Harvey original into a confrontational procession of pocket trumpet and barritone sax, they show that while the original jazzmen are dead, their free spirit rages on in unlikely places (David Stubbs, UNCUT MAGAZINE)

Many questions about this vinyl, yes it will be released on double LP with an extra bonus track, that is why we couldn`t have it ready for the CD/DL releasedate, as it took time to mix this track. But the LP will be in stock in 3 weeks time and in the shops shortly after after that. It is limited to 1000 copies and no repress so only one chance to get it.
