We congratulate Kim with this nomination. Kim is nominated for his debut album “Hei”. This is a funny nomination for us as this prize is for “serious” music and is mostly for high brow contemporary stuff, so its cool to know that we are “serious” and that pop music is taken seriously as well. Toy will play at The Big Chill Festival. The festival takes place from 4-6th of August at Eastnor Castle Deer Park in UK. In typical Jazzkammer manner their new album is a metal album (!). And they insist on calling themselves Jazkamer and to be on an own label called Smaltown Supernoise. Smalltown Supersound gave after and made a one-off label under Smalltown Superjazzz called Smalltown Supernoise. Confused? So are we, that is why this is the first and last album on this label. No matter what Jazkamer says. With Metal Music Machine, Jazkamer has made the album that Lou Reed did not make, they have taken Lou on the word and made metal machine music in the right meaning of the words. Erlend Øye from Kings Of Convenience has a new band called The Whitest Boy Alive. They are based in Berlin and their debut album “Dreams” will be released in May.
